Welcome to Arotake-Makariri, the Winter Review 2022

Welcome to Arotake-Makariri, the Winter Review, where we reflect on our activities over the past six months. Many of you have taken part in our online seminars, workshops and stayed connected via The Lookout.

A few highlights are:

  • Rt. Hon. Dame Patsy Reddy, former Governor-General of New Zealand joining as a trustee and director.

  • Live conversation with partner Aspen Kyiv, Ukraine's Defense of Freedom.

  • Multi-sector engagement in our seminar on Demographic Challenges, with a special thanks to the support from the U.S. Embassy New Zealand.

  • Visit to the inspirational Aspen Ideas Festival.

  • Welcome to the Biome Trust as a Te Kãkano Kauri supporter.

We look forward to an exciting rest of 2022, convening more often in person  in Auckland, Wellington and Queenstown.  If you haven't had a chance to participate in one of our Future Challenges seminar, join us for Inter-generational Challenges at the end of August with two of our directors moderating, Sir Bill English and Neil Jacobstein.

Your participation is what makes Aspen NZ a vibrant, thought-provoking, and influential community to belong to. Thoughtful conversations change society, and your involvement is essential to who we are in a connected world.

We have a lot to celebrate - thank you for taking part!

Ngā mihi,
Christine and the Aspen NZ team
