Welcome to the March edition of 'The Lookout'

Lookout March newsletter graphic

Welcome to The Lookout bringing you a global perspective on issues that matter.  In the March edition we put the 'unintended consequences of autocracy'  in-focus leading with a speech from the former Minister of Finance of Ukraine and Chair of Aspen Kyiv, calling for the global community to do more.  Followed by Leadership in Action, a raw and emotive speech from the Executive Director of Aspen Kyiv speaking at the Forbes 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi.

Everything we do at Aspen centres on developing a values-based approach to leadership, enhancing those qualities through listening to a range of viewpoints and finding common ground, the polar opposite of autocracy. Like Aspen New Zealand, Aspen Kyiv is independently organised and funded. To provide support for Aspen Kyiv staff, the Institute has created a U.S. tax-deductible Ukraine Crisis Fund.  If you would like to help by making a donation the full details are below.

With the mass exodus of refugees fleeing Ukraine, it is timely to discuss the geopolitical movement of people, labour shortages and mobility, global migration policies, and the impact of the changing demographics in New Zealand. Join us online for the Demographic Challenges: Critical Thinking and Values-based Leadership seminar on 27th and 28th April with moderators Neil Jacobstein (Singularity University), Prof. Alan Gamlen (ANU) and Distinguished Prof. Paul Spoonley (Massey University).

You will also find the usual hand-picked selection of in-depth analysis, moderated discussions, event invitations and prize-winning publications from a range of international viewpoints.  We invite you to curate your own content in a way that works for you and share it with your friends.  We hope you enjoy it.
