Welcome to the August 2024 edition of 'The Lookout'

Kia ora koutou

Welcome to the August edition of The Lookout, bringing you a global perspective on issues that matter.

In this edition, In Focus delves into our recent forum on Sustainable Food Futures, where we explored promising avenues for NZ and India to collaborate, harnessing NZ's cutting-edge AgriTech innovations to boost India's agricultural resilience. During the forum, India's High Commissioner to NZ, HE Neeta Bhushan, emphasised how these collaborative efforts are key to deepening ties between our nations.

Next, In Depth examines the Institute’s latest Science and Society report on Tactics for Trust, offering insights into the growing trust gap in science and other domains—and strategies for rebuilding it. Hot off the press, Leadership in Action features the historic investment from the Bezos Family Foundation in the Institute of USD185.7m to establish the Centre for Rising Generations, aimed to equip young people with the tools for civil dialogue, civic engagement, and leadership development. Watch this space!

Coming up we’re excited to offer two scholarship opportunities for Aspen NZ Alumni: the 2024 Aspen Cyber Summit in the U.S. and the Global Changemakers Workshop in Poland. Don’t miss out on these incredible chances to expand your horizons!

Our Evidence and Values Based Decision Making course (EVBDM) has proven transformative for Members of Parliament and we're pleased to announce our second intake in November. Contact us to learn how EVBDM could benefit your organisation.

As always, feel free to tailor the content to your needs and share it with friends and colleagues. We hope you enjoy this edition.
