Nominations Open for CityLab 2024 in Mexico City

CityLab Summit 2024

Mexico City, October 14 - 16

We are excited to announce that CityLab, the premier global summit that gathers the world's leading urban experts, will be held in Mexico City this October. This event is a unique opportunity to exchange bold ideas and evidence-based solutions to the most pressing challenges cities face today.

As an Aspen Institute International Partner, we have the privilege to nominate individuals to join as audience members at the summit. We aim to send one or two remarkable leaders from New Zealand who are committed to improving cities around the world.  Please note the following important details:

  • Nominee Criteria: Only nominees from the private, academic, and nonprofit sectors will be considered. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any public sector nominees. Aspen NZ supporters and alumni will receive priority. Nominees must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

  • Nomination Process: While we can submit up to ten nominations, a nomination does not guarantee an invitation. The Institute in Washington D.C. will make the final selections subject to confirmation by Bloomberg Philanthropies.

  • Travel Expenses: Successful applicants will receive an invitation and pass to attend CityLab, including all accommodation for two nights and meals for the duration of the summit. However, travel expenses, including flights, are not included and will be at the nominee’s expense.

If you are interested in being considered for nomination, or would like to nominate an individual, please email us at the link below by Thursday 4th of July, 2024. Please include:

  • your full name

  • current position

  • organisation

  • address and contact number

  • nationality (must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident)

  • a brief statement explaining why you would like to attend CityLab

  • confirm that you are able to cover all your travel expenses including flights and extra nights accommodation.

If you’d like to know more about what to expect, read the report from one of our successful candidates from The University of Otago, attending CityLab in Washington D.C.

We look forward to receiving your application and potentially having you represent us at this internationally renowned summit.
